GEORGIAN STERLING SILVER OPEN SALTS, 18TH CENTURY, TWO PAIRS, H 1 1/2", DIA 2 3/4":Each round salt raised on three legs ending in spade feet, including 1 pair with a smooth rim and 1 pair with a gadroon rim. All hallmarks are very rubbed, however one salt with gadroon rim is clearly marked with a crowned leopard, lion passant, and date letter b in a shield, 1737-1738, with a highly worn maker's mark at the center, possibly EW in a circle (see photo).
