CHINESE EXPORT LACQUERED WOOD LAP DESK, 19TH CENTURY, H 6 1/2", W 18", D 9 3/4":Rectangular shape flanked by handles, hinged lid opening to hinged writing surface, a secret drawer at one side; the exterior features a figural reserve at the top and at each side, against a ground of lush foliage. Provenance, the Haynes Family of Springfield, Massachusetts, by descent to a Jackson, Mich. collector.
