CHINESE 'FAMILLE ROSE' PORCELAIN COVERED JAR, C. 1840, H 8", DIA 8":Having a fitted lid and foo dog knop and a scene of seated scholar at table with stack of books and a seated lady with fan on opposite side of table. Young attendant with tea tray and another on looking attendant. Base has two distinct scenes, one with two figures holding parade canopy while an attendant shields a nobleman with a sun umbrella. Opposite side having six figures, one bringing gilts to elder., continuous scene with numerous figures, a nobleman and others bearing gifts.
