Chinese, 20th C. Pair of Chinese relief carved panels, each large reeded panel composed of 3 sections, the top of both panels carved with floral cartouche with fruit and foliage, the middle panel on one carved with stag on a grassy, rocky ground, turning its head back to look towards a flowering prunus tree and perched birds along with fruiting trees, also with inscription or poem, the other panel with middle section carved with nesting cock & hen and several perching birds in a tree, the bottom panels on both decorated with 'one hundred antiques' or precious objects, the whole carved in high relief and enclosed by framed borders, the relief carved surfaces finished in gilt over red pigment. Height 81.4", width 23.25", depth 1.6".
