FREDERICK MACHETANZ (ALASKAN 1908 - 2002), OIL ON CANVASBOARD, 25" X 31", PROFILE OF A MAN:Signed lower right; framed. Listed in Mantle Fielding's dictionary of American artists. Having received both his BA and MA degrees from Ohio State University. Past exhibitions held at the University of Alaska; Frye Museum, Seattle; Tyron Gallery Ltd., London; and others. His honors include an honorary doctorate from the University of Alaska (1973), Alaskan of the Year (1977), and Artist of the Year (American Artist magazine, 1981).
