TAPESTRY WITH MYTHOLOGICAL FIGURES, 10' 5 3/4" X 8' 0":Consisting of two thin borders, of navy and gold, that contain a third border that creates a trompe l'oeil frame which surrounds the central scene. The scene depicts figures, appearing to be of mythological origin, reclining outdoors by ancient ruins. The figures, thirteen in all, include men, women, children and putti plus two leopards. A landscape and cloud filled sky composes nearly one half of the image.
