EMILE A. GRUPPE [USA 1896-1940], OIL ON CANVAS, 1969, 20" X 24", GLOUCESTER PORT SCENE:Signed lower right, also signed and titled on stretcher. Owner purchased directly from Gruppe in 1969 while on a business trip to visit Gorton Food Co. in Gloucester, Mass. Painting was on Gruppe's easel and almost complete when purchased. Gruppe took three more days to complete work and then sold painting after having framed it.
