Italian, 17th C. Italian Baroque walnut carved Cassone, marriage, dowry, blanket chest or trunk with snipe hinged overhanging rectangular molded top, enclosing a fabric lined interior. The exterior with a leaf carved panel front at the top and base, the middle panel with rosettes and blind arcading decoration, the right panel opening to reveal three stacked drawers. the whole on four shaped feet. Height 24.75", width 53", depth 19.5".
