French, Late 19th C. French gothic revival oak settle or hall tree, the large paneled back carved with tracery panels, point arches, trefoil and quatrefoil shapes and centered with arched beveled mirror. The lower section of the settle similarly decorated and centered with hinged box seat within downswept arms terminating in monk masks flanked by linen fold panels mounted with cast iron turned umbrella holder. Height 81", width 56", depth 20".
