CARVED WOOD 'ROMAN TRIREME' & 'EGYPTIAN GALLEY' SINGLE-MAST MODEL SHIPS, AFTER 1600 B. C. & 1861 A.D.:Includes one carved wood "Roman Trireme" single-mast model ship, H 14 1/2", L 23", reconstruction of the "Roman Trireme" galley launched by Napoleon III for his pleasure in 1861; and one carved wood "Egyptian Galley" single-mast model ship, H 14 1/4", L 12 3/4", with seven oars to each side; curved bow; two platforms at bow & stern; crow's-nest; and four portholes; modeled after a 1600 B.C. ship, (without base).
