After Frederic Remington (American, 1861-1909), "The Rattlesnake (Snake in the Path)"-original work, cast patinated bronze sculpture, incised on base "copyright by Frederic Remington". Figural sculpture depicting a horse rearing on hind legs due to a rattlesnake on ground, male cowboy wearing hat, chaps, and boots leans forward to stabilize himself. This appears to be an earlier recasting of the artist's famous sculpture as the rattlesnake has more definition than later ones. Approximate height 22", width 15.25", depth 8.125".
