FLEMISH SCHOOL, OIL ON CRADLED WOOD PANEL, 8" X 6", "CHRIST AS THE MAN OF SORROWS":The image depicts Christ with his head partially turned, in half length view. He is wearing a crown of thorns and a white and red cape and holds, in his bound hands, a scepter. The reverse of the wood backing has an alleged Provenance typed on a Vixseboxse Art Galleries sticker reading "'Christ as the Man of Sorrows' Flemish School 17th Century Oil on Panel- 6" x 8" Provenance Russell B. Phillips, New Jersey; Sotheby Parke Bernet, New York". The painting is in the style of the 17th century.
