KUNIYOSHI (JAPANESE) WOODBLOCK PRINTS, TWO, C. 1845, APP. 14 "X 28 3/4", WOMAN WORKING OUTDOORS:Both prints are of triptych form and have artist's signature ("Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga", 1798-1861)) and the same publisher's mark/seal of Kiri, but each with varying date/censor seals. One image consisting of four women, with a child helping, doing laundry by the water's edge; includes date/censor seal from 1847-1848 and one other marking with the image on the left having artist's signature in a cartouche. One image consisting of three women on the shore with water buckets, one of them is smoking what appears to be an opium pipe; includes date/censor seal from 1847-1850 and one other marking.
