A mounted copy of a letter written by Booker T. Washington which has been printed on a steel panel, original letter dated January 7, 1921 and addressed to Mr. George Eastman in response to his donation of $5000 to the school's endowment, the plaque being one presented to Margaret Washington Clifford in 1988 for her continued support of Booker's cause, approximately 13" x 10.5". Note on provenance: Copy of letter from Booker T. Washington's granddaughter, Robin Washington Banks, confirming provenance is available upon request. Letter states her inheritance of the estate and its ultimate sale to the consignor of this lot.
