In this map, Jannson relied heavily upon Briggs 1625 map of North America, Hessel Gerritsz’s map of 1631, and John Smith's map of 1616. Map hand colored and illustrated with figures in native primitive dress surrounding title plate in upper left corner. Images of animals, ships and sea creatures throughout. This map is likely a second state with Latin text on verso visible through glass in double sided frame. Framed approximately 30.75" x 34.25". Sight size approximately 19.25" x 22.6".
