ENGLISH MAHOGANY LAP DESK WITH BRASS MOUNTS, MID 19TH CENTURY, H 5 1/2", W 15 7/8", D 9 1/2":Campaign style with hinged lid opening to blue velvet-lined writing surface, both sides of which hinge open to storage, pen and inkwell compartments, the whole flanked by brass handles, the handle at one side also opens a drawer when interior brass pin is removed. Illegible writing in ink at the inside of one compartment includes what appears to be the date "24/11/7" (see photo).
