German, circa 1730. German pine tall case or grandfather's clock with bonnet top over an arched glazed door enclosing a conforming simple painted metal white dial with Arabic numerals within pierced decorative spandrels and headed with decorative silver engraved medallion, the trunk with arched molded door with locking mechanism on a bombe form base with scalloped apron and bracket feet. floral painted spandrels, the white dial with Roman numerals, seconds and calendar aperture. The time and strike movement is eight-day duration and designed to strike each hour on a cast iron bell. It is powered by two weights. Height 84.5", width 21", depth 10.5".
