ALBRECHT DURER (GERMAN, 1471-1528), ENGRAVING, 'THE ILL ASSORTED COUPLE', 6" X 5 5/8":Artist's monogram, matted under glass, framed. Label on reverse from Campbell Dodgson alleging work to be "an original engraving.. .created by Durer around 1495.. . On paper with a Double Headed Eagle watermark (M. 215) with margins and in good condition. Authentication on verso states that it is a mid 17th c. impression. This work is listed in the Bartsch catalogue as No. 93".
