FRENCH SEVRES STYLE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN COVERED URN, SIGNED, H 16 3/4", W 9":Having a lemon colored ground that is adorned with two vignettes: one depicts a courting scene that is signed, possibly "G. Perier" or perhaps "G. Peicier", and the second scene depicts floral sprays. The piece is adorned with gold accents along with gilt metal mounts with masks of satyrs flanking either side. The underside of the lid is marked in blue over glaze with the double L mark that is centered by "BB" with "S." just below. The interior of the lid, underneath the mountings of the finial, also has hand painted markings in red that appear to be "40731" along with an illegible word.
