Mary Charlotte Anne Wellesley-Pole, eldest daughter of William, 4th Earl of Mornington and niece to the Duke of Wellington, was born in 1786 and married in 1806 to Sir Charles Bagot, Under Secretary for the State for Foreign Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary, Ambassador to St. Petersburg, The Hague and Vienna - also Governor General of Canada.
