1940 DETROIT LIONS YEAR BOOK & 1934 AUTOGRAPHED FOOTBALL:Both the football and the hard bound year book (which has a copy of each game program for the 1940 season) were presented to Wm. A Alfs who was the then President of the Detroit Lions. The inscription on the football states "To Bill Alps from Detroit Lions"; "Detroit Lions 28 and Brooklyn Dodgers 0". Signatures include Glenn Presnell, Ernie Caddell, Coach George "Potsy" Clark, Ox Emerson, Jack Johnson, Bill Mckalip (only played on Lions team in 1934 & 36), John Schneller, Ace Gutowsky, Bob Rowe, Russ Lay, Clare Randolph and Maury Bodenger; The last year they played each other was 1943. The Dodgers became the Brooklyn Tigers in 1944 and later merged with the Boston Yanks in 1945. (rev.20080814)
