EDITH HOWLAND (AMER. , 1863-1949), BRONZE BUST, 'JOHN MARIN', H 5 1/2":Depicts the artist John Marin. Mounted on marble. Signed. "Howland". Sculptor born in Auburn, N.Y. Studied at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Pupil of Gustave Michel in Paris and of Augustus Saint-Gaudens; also studied at Art Students League under Daniel C. French. Honorable mention at Paris Salon in 1913. Represented in Metropolitan Museum and Brooklyn Museum.
