James Gale Tyler (American (Connecticut), 1855-1931). "Tall Ship At Sea", oil on canvas, signed lower right "James G. Tyler". Painting depicts a listing tall ship out at sea, the ship leaning to the right with full sails billowed out and a red light beacon to front of ship, with a steam ship to background at right under moonlight cloudy skies, the sea lit behind ship by the light of the moon and exhibiting white caps to center front. Label to verso from Ashford Fine Arts Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Framed approximately 29" x 35", unframed approximately 18" x 24".
