Continental School, 19th century. "Portrait of A Refined Lady", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting depicts a young brunette beauty with curled hair held back by blue scarf, dressed in a gown of purple and white silk with jeweled buttons, and draped in a cape of turquoise silk, sitting in front of a black hanging drape with a sliver of wooded landscape peeking out on the left. Framed 43" x 33.75", unframed 37.75" x 28.25".
