American School, late 19th century. "Catskills Landscape", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Hudson River School style painting depicting a low mountain range set behind a small gathering of homes on the far side of a lake, the lake with white sailed boats, the near bank holding houses at either end of the composition with a dirt road running through center with a pair of figures in conversation at a rough hewn wooden fence gate and another two figures traveling along the path beside a tall cluster of trees just right of center. Framed approximately 24.5" x 34", unframed approximately 11.875" x 24".
