Chester County, Pennsylvania wool and silk on linen needlework picture of 2 peacocks, one standing on a grassy mound and one perched on a cherry tree branch, worked in a variety of stitches in red, green, tan, brown, blue, and gray, inscribed "CM" and "1754", 10" x 9". For a nearly identical example, see Swan, A Winterthur Guide to American Needlework , pg. 84. The same "CM" appears on the example in Swan's book. Provenance: Joe Kindig, Jr. & Son Antiques 1962.
