REVERSE PAINTED UNDER GLASS WALL MIRROR, C 1816, H 21", W 11":having a reverse painted under glass still life of fruit on top half with original mirror on bottom; half round spindle design frame with gilt and black enamel finish; Provenance on verso: "Purchased in Syracuse N.Y. by Rufus Hubbard in 1816 and kept in residence at Bergen, Genesee County, N.Y. In 1836 family moved to Illinois. Making the piece 111 years old." Florence D. Sleight (1926). To date 193 years old.
