AMERICAN INDIAN BEADED HIDE POUCHES, PLAINS/PLATEAU, EARLY 20TH C. , FOUR, L 4 1/2"-12":Probably Plains, including 1 rectangular pouch with flap, beaded at one side in shades of blue, red, yellow, and medium blue, with initials HBC, fringe border hung with eight metal pieces, L.6" (12" overall), W.4 1/4" (general wear and soiling, some loose beads); 1 Kiowa oval shaped pouch with beading at both sides, L.4 3/4", W.2 3/4" (soiled, a small hole at the back side); 1 rectangular pouch beaded at one side in shades of red, white, blue, yellow, and translucent amber, hung with beaded fringe, L.4" (7" overall), W.3" (leather is very dry, a 1" tear at the top, mended at two corners, numerous loose beads, lacking approximately 5 strands of fringe); and 1 oval shaped pouch beaded at both sides in two shades of blue, red and white, having a beaded loop handle, L.4 1/2", W.2 3/4" (soiled, accession numbers in ink at the front side).
