Bill Tarr (American (New York/ Florida), 1925-2006) "Pebbled Cube" - c. 1960s, cast and welded bronze, signed lower left of one side "W. Tarr". A very heavy and highly textured Brutalist cube form sculpture composed of small bronze sheets of varying size cast with textured dots to surface in rows, the sheets welded together in a patchwork form to all six sides of cube with some overlapping and some leaving gaps, the whole with scattered traces of red and green patination and oxidation. Approximately 12" square. Museum and corporate collections: The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois. Museum exhibitions: The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, 1962, 1968.
