Likely English, 19th century. A collection of three finely painted miniature portraits likely of Queen Elizabeth I of England comprising one rectangular portrait after Nicholas Hilliard (British, c.1547-1619) in a tortoiseshell veneer frame depicting an Elizabethan royal woman in ruff collar over yellow and white striped dress with her blond hair neatly tied back behind her head and a livery collar with star pendant at her chest, inscribed lower right "N. Hilliard"; a smaller oval portrait depicting a woman in black dress at bust length with high lace collar, signed lower left "Carl"; and another oval portrait depicting a royal figure with large ruff collar over neutral colored dress with blue and red jeweled livery collar and brooch at chest, the painting with applied pearlescent forms, signed indistinguishably lower right. Largest portrait approximately 5.25" x 4.5".
