Mid Atlantic yellow pine tall case clock, ca. 1795 , the arched bonnet enclosing an 8-day works with painted face, over a case with smooth quarter columns supported by ogee bracket feet, the interior with chalk inscription "January 1795", 97" h. Provenance: According to family tradition, the clock originally resided at Joseph Bonaparte's estate in Bordentown, NJ until it was purchased by Bernard O'Connor at Bonaparte's estate sale. It descended in the O'Connor family until 1958, when it was purchased by the family of the present consignor.
