Didisheim-Goldschmidt Musical Drum Clock, c.1930

Didisheim Goldschmidt Fils & Cie (Juvenia) (Swiss, founded 1860), circa 1930. A gilt metal "La Timbale Enchantee (The Enchanted Drum)" musical dresser clock of drum form with the hemispherical clock resting in a basin mounted on three bamboo form crossed legs, the enamel face with black Arabic Numeral dial surrounding a hand painted scene of two winged putti or cupids in a heavenly landscape with laurel wreathes in hand. Marked to side of clock and back of stand "Didisheim-Goldschmidt FIls & Co. Swiss, Fab. Suisse Metal Dore", back of stand further inscribed "La Timbale Enchantee fab. suisse metal dore".
