Pennsylvania transitional William & Mary walnut close chair, ca. 1740 , the scalloped crest with fan carved ears, above a 3 slat back flanked by scrolling arms with baluster turned supports above a leather covered plank seat and deep seat rail supported by square molded edge legs joined by stretchers, retaining its original pewter basin bearing the touch "W+F". Provenance: Edgar and Charlotte Sittig.
