American School, late 19th century. "Landscape at Dawn", oil on wood board, signed lower left possibly "R. J. Stewart". Finely painted naturalistic landscape depicting a single small figure at left walking down a meandering dirt path flanked to right by a vast landscape of brown grasses, the whole backed by a line of tall dark trees resting on a low horizon line under a softly colored sky with low clouds at center reflecting the rising sun's light. Framed approximately 16" x 20.75". Unframed approximately 11" x 16".
