Continental, possibly German, 19th century. A polychrome decorated three drawer pine folk art commode or chest of drawers having a rectangular top with red painted applied molding enclosing the robin's egg blue ground and hand painted polychrome flowering urn with berries and floral decoration, the case similarly decorated with three long drawers, large wood turned pulls, individual locking mechanisms and raised on four flattened bun feet. Approximate height 30", width 49.12:, depth 24.75". Provenance: Purchased for $5500 from Withers and Lanham Designs, INC located at 375 Pharr Road, N.E.
