English, first half of 20th century (circa 1937). Limed oak wood and sage to olive green velvet fabric upholstered coronation chair by North & Sons, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. Side chair with rectangular back support branded by the maker and dated, embroidered with the Royal cipher of George VI, "GR" under a crown. Chair raised on square legs, the front with tapered subtle carvings at top and bottom. Height 33.5", width 19.5", depth 14". Seat to floor 18.5".
