Gen S.S. Ross, unframed; The second letter of two pages and dated April 24, 1864, describes a confederate soldier committing murder of black cavalry soldiers and being convicted by a military tribunal and hanged. The letter lists the officers in the tribunal and signed by a Frank J. Lovejoy Adjutant 3rd U.S. Cavalry (colored) and is a direct descendent of consigners late husband.
