GERMAN HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN CABINET PLATE OF 'DAPHNE', C. 1900, SIGNED DONATH, DIA 9 5/8":Beautifully hand painted and decorated plate depicts Daphne at the well, wearing a crown of laurels and a draped gossamer gown. The border has an almost bronze colored ground with rich gold embossed hearts, leaf and scroll motifs amongst vignettes with avian themes. Signed at the well, with the underside marked with "98", a beehive in blue over glaze, "Daphne", "Gesetzlich Geschutzt"," W.T. & v. R Philada" and "Germany".
