GEORGE III STERLING CANDLESTICKS, MATTHEW BOULTON, BIRMINGHAM, 1786-87, PAIR, H 12":Each sterling silver candlestick having a removable bobeche, gadrooned rims, and a tapering standard above a circular base; the bobeches and bases are fully marked with a lion passant, king's profile, anchor, date letter "O", and maker's mark "MB" enclosed (for Matthew Boulton, see additional photo). Engraved script monogram "AS" surmounted by a crown at each bobeche and base.
