Carl Boker (Germany, 1836-1905). "Spilled Milk", oil on canvas. Painting depicts a young blonde child in a white bonnet who has just dropped a bowl of creamy potato chowder, a feral cat and dog at it's feet eating the fallen remnants, set in front of a crumbling stone wall with a basket full of potatoes tumbling out of an adjacent doorway. Signed lower right "Carl Boker, 1879". Framed 30.75" x 25.75", unframed 21.5" x 16.5". Alternate spelling for artist's name "Karl Boker".
