CHIKANOBU (JAPANESE, 1838-1912),, WOODBLOCK FRAMED TRIPTYCH, C. 1889, 13 3/4" X 27 3/4" (SIGHT):Triptych depicts a rich exterior scene with numerous figures in ornate traditional attire, trees, a lake, a mountain rising up from the center of the background, architectural structures and brightly colored flowers. Text appears at the upper right, and the lower left (probably the publisher), and the signature is at the lower right. Matted, under glass and framed; with a M. Ishii & Sons label adhered to the verso.
