JAPANESE SATSUMA VASE BY KINKOZAN, H 4 3/4":Teardrop shape with two primary reserves, one depicts a woman and child in a landscape, the other a garden gate with flowers, signed (see photo). Provenance: Dr. Donald Sutherland of Canada, purchased from the Japanese display at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exhibition, St. Louis, Missouri; acquired by William and Jo-Ann Van Rooy, 1968, and their collection was recently featured in the book SHAPE & DECORATION IN JAPANESE EXPORT CERAMICS by Nancy N. Schiffer, copyright 2002, p.138.
