American, Late 19th Century. Set of 6 Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs comprised of 2 arm and 4 side chairs, each with a scrolling waved crest rail centering an arched pendant of curling acanthus over a reticulated splat of stylized acanthus centered with tasseled ribbon and flanked by fluted stiles over a trapezoidal drop in seat upholstered in silk above a gadrooned seat rail, raised on front cabriole legs with scrolling acanthus hips continuing to claw and ball feet. Armchair height 37.5", width 24" (arm to arm), seat depth 16", seat height 19". Side chair height 37.5", width 20", seat depth 15", seat height 19".
