CHARLES WARE, PRINTS, FOUR, 'PRINTS FROM THE AGES OF SAIL AND STEAM':The drawing of the 'Ship of the Line' was taken from the Naval records Collection of the Office of Naval Records and Library, Record Group 45 of the National Archives. Drawings of the 'Lizzie Davis', 'Steamer Corinthian' and 'Steamer Col. Thomas' (which was never built) are from the Records of the Quartermaster General, Record Group 92 of the National Archives. All were done by Charles Ware, a civilian sailmaker working for the Navy at the Boston ( Charlestown) Navy Yard between 1817 and 1831.
