Scottish, Early 19th century. Scottish long case 8 day mahogany clock with split scrolled pediment over the enamel decorated dial with Roman markers, subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, surrounded with scenic reserves depicting the four continents, and the escape of Queen Mary, the dial signed James Murdock, Newton Ayr, flanked to outside with turned columns over the waisted body having a single door, enclosing the weights and floral painted pendulum, the cabinetmaker label affixed to the interior back 'Affleck & Sons, 69 High Street" and rising on projecting molded plinth on bracket feet. Height 85", width 11", depth 10". Note: James Murdock is a listed clockmaker working in Newton Ayr, Scotland in 1837. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Rebecca Aggrey.
