AMERICAN, ENGLISH, IRISH & RUSSIAN STERLING & SILVER SUGAR TONGS, 19TH & EARLY 20TH C. , 4 PCS.:English Sterling includes one pair of tongs by Henry Holland, stamped with maker's mark of "H.H" enclosed within a rectangle, an uncrowned leopard's head, a date letter "c" (1858) and the duty mark of Queen Victoria, marked with a faint coat of arms, L. 5 1/2"; together with one pair of sugar tongs that are stamped with English style markings include a duty mark, the enclosed letter "G", a lion passant, another letter, "D", and also with "Henry Hoyt" (c. 1820) enclosed within a rectangle, monogrammed, L. 5 7/8". Also included are one pair of Irish Sterling sugar tongs that are stamped with the duty mark of the King's head, the standard mark of the harp, the city mark, and the maker's mark of George Nagle, "GN" enclosed within an oval, L. 6 1/8" together with one pair of Russian .875 silver sugar tongs, c. 1908, that are stamped with the Moscow city mark of a delta, woman's head in profile and 84 all enclosed within an oval, also stamped with maker's initials NP (in English; the letters are in Cyrillic) which appear to be those of Nikolai Pavlovich Pavlov, L. 5 1/2". Total weighable tr.oz. is approximately 3.89.
