WILLIAM IV SCOTTISH STERLING KETTLE, MARSHALL/ELDER & CO. , EDINBURGH, 1834-35, H 10 1/2", ON A STAND:A sterling silver kettle with repousse motif of flowering vines and scrolls having a hinged lid and swing handle with ivory resists, engraved crown and monogram at two sides, hallmarks include king's profile, thistle, castle, and date letter "C", as well as maker's marks "J & W M" for James and William Marshall, and "E & Co" for Elder & Co., weighing approximately 53.7 troy oz.; raised on an antique silverplate stand, no apparent markings. Overall H.14 1/4", width of the kettle 12".
