Bears GUANGXU MARK. Both dishes of shallow form, having both exteriors and interiors decorated with finely painted polychrome enamel and gilt designs of phoenixes and dragons amid clouds pursuing a flaming pearl amid rainbow hued sprigs of lingzhi fungus on a white ground. Gilt rim with interior band having alternating auspicious designs of pomegranate, bats, and Buddhist manji (whirlwind) symbols. Overglaze enamel red Guangxu period (1875-1908) six-character mark and of the period.
