AFRICAN WOOD MASKS, INCLUDING KIFWEBE, THREE, H 10"-12":Carved wood masks include 1 round with almond shaped eyes, angular nose, and full lips, possible scarification at the cheeks, H. 10" x 8 1/2" x 3" (minor loss at eyebrow, another at backside rim, some wear, netting on reverse); 1 oval with incised carving at the top of the head, almond shaped eyes, broad nose with pierced nostrils, and two holes at the mouth, H.10 1/2" x 6 1/4" x 3 1/4" (some wear); and 1 mask with raffia beard for the Kifwebe Society, Luba tribe, D. R. Congo, H.11 3/4" x 7 1/2" x 4" (chip at the backside crest, netting at the back). Early-mid 20th century.
