American, circa 1940s. Brunswick-Balke-Collender Centennial billiard or pool table, streamlined in form and made of Brazilian rosewood with a solid cast aluminum skirt and base. Pool table has been fully restored, including green felt top, refinishing all exposed wood, and high polishing of all the aluminum. Table is mounted to one end with metal tag "The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company, USA". Approximate height 32.5", width 112", depth 63". Note: The following is from the 1946 Brunswick Billiard Equipment and Supplies catalog no.101:Table's wood & finish All exposed wood surfaces except playing rails are finished in rosewood. Playing rails are finished with a special rosewood burn-resistant finish. All concealed wood surfaces are treated with a moisture repellent. All exposed aluminum surfaces are anodized, have a mar-resistant, satin aluminum color finish.Table construction: Two oval-shaped laminated legs with tapered ends, fitted with 6%" high aluminum basing attached to bottom.Aprons. Aprons of extruded aluminum with grooved and fluted contour to match contour of corner castings and flow into rounded edge of rails.
